Project-Specific Terms
Flat Roof Falls – Unless otherwise stated in your quote, we have allowed for laying new flat roof coverings to existing falls only.
Water & Power Use – We may require the free use of the client's water and power supply, but only when essential for completing the work.
Roof Covering Removal – Unless specifically stated otherwise in your quote, we have allowed for the removal of one existing roof covering when renewing a flat roof (e.g., 20mm asphalt, 3-layer felt, lead, or zinc covering).
Water Pooling Disclaimer – While we take every precaution, we cannot guarantee the complete prevention of water pooling. Even with fall alterations, some pooling may still occur due to the building's structural properties. This will not affect your guarantee on our professionally installed roofing systems.
Scope of Work – Only items specifically listed in the quote are covered. Additional work would require a separate agreement.
Internal Plasterwork Disclaimer – For renewal works (e.g., flat or pitched roof renewals), minor plaster damage may occur due to unavoidable vibrations (e.g., nail heads showing through plaster). These are typically easy to fill, but we are not responsible for any repairs should they arise.
Effect of Pooling on Roofing Systems – Water pooling on 3-layer felt systems, guttering, GRP systems, or lead installations will not adversely affect the materials or performance of our work.
Weather Delays - Roofing works are weather dependent. Programmes, start dates, and completion dates may change due to unsafe or unsuitable weather conditions.
Unforeseen Timber/Structural Defects - Quotations are based on visible inspection only unless otherwise stated. Any hidden defects, rotten timber, structural movement, or unforeseen issues uncovered during works may require additional remedial works and associated costs.
Access & Obstructions - The client is responsible for ensuring safe and reasonable access to the work area throughout the project duration. Delays caused by restricted access, parked vehicles, stored items, or third-party obstruction may affect programme timelines.
Asbestos Disclaimer - Unless specifically stated otherwise, quotations exclude the testing, removal, or disposal of asbestos-containing materials. Any suspected asbestos discovered during works may require temporary suspension of works pending specialist assessment.
Material Colour & Batch Variation - Natural variation in tile, slate, lead, timber, or manufactured product colour may occur between batches and cannot always be avoided.
Client Responsibility for Internal Contents - Clients are advised to protect valuable internal items within loft spaces or upper floors during roofing works, as dust or minor debris displacement can occasionally occur during the construction process.
Scaffold Handover / Tampering - Once scaffolding has been handed over, Barris Roofing Ltd cannot accept responsibility for unauthorised alterations, interference, or misuse by third parties.
TV/Satellite/Aerial Disclaimer- Whilst reasonable care is taken, existing aerials, satellite systems, internet cabling, or aged fixings may occasionally require adjustment or replacement during roofing works.
