Subcontractor Terms and Conditions
1. Scope of Work
Subcontractors will provide roofing services as required, including but not limited to roof coverings, leadwork, detailing, and any associated tasks.
All work must meet the specifications provided and adhere to industry standards and applicable regulations.
2. Use of Company Vans
Subcontractors are required to use company vans provided for the duration of the project.
Vans must only be used for work-related purposes, and all mileage outside work hours must be logged and authorised.
Subcontractors are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the van and reporting any damage or faults immediately.
Any fines incurred (e.g., parking or traffic violations) due to the subcontractor's negligence will be deducted from payments.
3. Uniforms and Presentation
Subcontractors must wear company-branded uniforms at all times while on site or representing the company.
Uniforms will be provided by the company, but subcontractors are responsible for keeping them clean and presentable.
Subcontractors must maintain a professional appearance and attitude when interacting with clients or third parties.
4. Health and Safety
Subcontractors must comply with all health and safety regulations and company policies, including:
Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Following risk assessments and method statements provided.
Reporting any incidents, near-misses, or hazards immediately.
5. Tools and Equipment
Subcontractors are expected to provide their own tools unless specified otherwise.
Any company-owned equipment provided must be used responsibly and returned in good condition.
6. Quality and Standards
All work must be completed to a high standard, meeting or exceeding industry benchmarks.
The company reserves the right to inspect and approve all work before payment is authorised.
Subcontractors will be liable for any costs incurred to rectify substandard work.
7. Conduct and Confidentiality
Subcontractors must conduct themselves professionally at all times and respect client property.
Client details and project information must remain confidential and not be shared without prior written consent.
8. Insurance
Insurance is provided by Barris Roofing Ltd. Excess payments will be payable by the subcontractor in the event of a claim.
9. Payment Terms
Subcontractors will be paid per the agreed rates, subject to completion of works to a satisfactory standard. Pete, or Nick will attend site upon completion to sign off.
Invoices must be submitted weekly/monthly (as agreed), with payment processed within 7 days of receipt.
Deductions may be made for any damages, fines, or costs incurred due to subcontractor negligence.
10. Termination
The company reserves the right to terminate the agreement without notice if:
Work is not completed to the required standard.
Health and safety breaches occur.
The subcontractor acts in a manner that damages the company’s reputation.
11. Additional Requirements
Subcontractors must attend any mandatory training or briefings as required by our governing bodies.
Full details of the project, including measurements and the offered price will be presented prior to starting works. Subcontractors are required to sign an agreement to take on the project.
12. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes between the company and subcontractor will be resolved amicably through discussion. If unresolved, both parties agree to arbitration as the next step. Barris Roofing Ltd are long serving members of the NFRC, Competent Roofer & Trustmark accredited, with access to arbitration facilities in the unusual case that they would be required.
13. Acceptance of Terms
By signing the proposal, the subcontractor agrees to abide by the terms and conditions outlined above.
